The Bible…

The Bible is the most important book you could ever read. It is the Word of God; and it will lead, guide, and direct you throughout your life. We want to encourage you to seek the Lord through His Word. Open up the Bible and ask the Lord to guide you to the right passages of Scripture for your life at this time. It is the Holy Spirit that will bring the Word to life for you and feed your mind, body, and spirit.

“For the Word that God speaks is alive and full of power [making it active, operative, energizing, and effective]; it is sharper than any two-edged sword, penetrating to the dividing line of the breath of life (soul) and [the immortal] spirit, and of joints and marrow [of the deepest parts of our nature], exposing and sifting and analyzing and judging the very thoughts and purposes of the heart.” Hebrews 4:12

Book Of Matthew…

The Scripture for this month and the must read come from the Book of Matthew. We want to encourage you to read the whole book of Matthew which speaks about the life of Jesus and His ministry, His death and resurrection.

“But the things that come out of a person’s mouth come from the heart, and these defile them. For out of the heart come evil thoughts—murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, slander. These are what defile a person…”(Matthew 15:18-20).

2 Samuel 11-12…

2 Samuel chapters 11-12 is the must read this month as well as the monthly verse. These passages of Scripture are what we used in our “Repentance” teaching. This is the story of David and Bathsheba, and David’s repentance of his sin for this impurity. Allow the Holy Spirit to speak to your heart through these passages, and ask Him to help you gain greater understanding of the Scriptures.

Listening To The Holy Spirit…

We want to encourage you to seek the Lord about your daily reading and devotional time. Each person has various circumstances and is going through different things at any given time. It is because of this that what you read is so important. The lessons in the Bible pertain to every person, and there is always something significant to be learned from reading God’s Word. Learning to be lead by the Holy Spirit and obeying His leadings in your devotional time is very beneficial. So take time today to pray and ask the Lord to guide you to the portion of His Word that He wants you to intake at this time; and ask the Holy Spirit to bring to life the words on the page.

“All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right” (2 Timothy 3:16).

The Book Of Ephesians…

The must read this month is the book of Ephesians in the Bible. This is a wonderful book that shares about standing strong in Christ Jesus. It is a must read! Our Bible verse of the month is also taken out of the book of Ephesians.

“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people” (Ephesians 6:16-18).

The Book Of John…

The must read this month is the book of John in the Bible. This is a wonderful book that shares about the ministry of Jesus, the miracles He performed, His death and resurrection. It is a must read! Our Bible verse of the month is also taken out of the book of John. “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16
