The Importance Of Family Time…

Investing in your family is one of the best things you can do. Your spouse and children need your love and your time. It doesn’t matter if you are not the perfect parent, husband, or wife. What matters is that you give your best to them. Think about the things you put your time into; work, chores, personal accomplishments, and friends. These things are not bad, but are you putting the same amount of time or more into your family? If the answer is no, then a re-assessment of your priorities may be necessary. Yes, it is true that stress and life’s challenges can get in the way. If you let it, these things will erode you and rob you of the things that truly matter. When you pass from this life to the next you can’t take anything with you except for the spiritual things that have been built in your heart through Christ Jesus. So today, re-assess your priorities and choose to put God first. It is in this that your family can be mended and put back together, and your presence in their lives can make a difference!

The Lord’s Blessings For You…

The Lord loves you and He desires for you to be a part of His Kingdom. When you accept Jesus into your heart you become born again and your sins are forgiven you. The sins you have committed yesterday, today, as well as the ones you will commit in the future. The Bible teaches us that we all have fallen short of the glory of God, and that each person has the opportunity to accept the life changing love of Jesus Christ. After accepting Jesus into your heart, when you pass from this life, you will go to be with Him in Heaven. Additionally though you will also have the opportunity to enter into God’s Kingdom on earth. This means that you have the chance to receive all of God’s blessings for your life, and to enter into all that He has in store for you. During Jesus’ time on earth He taught that the Kingdom of God was at hand. He also taught that the Kingdom of God is in our hearts. When we recite the Lord’s Prayer we pray; “Thy Kingdom come, thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.” The Lord is not talking about Heaven when He mentions His Kingdom, but He is referring to His system of doing things. To enter into the Kingdom of Heaven on earth means to start doing things God’s way.

The way you receive God’s blessings is through your surrender and obedience to His Spirit. God is speaking to each person on a regular basis. The Lord speaks through His Word, through His ministers, directly to our hearts, and in other ways as well. When the Lord speaks something to you there is a reason and it is important. Also it is vital to listen to and obey Him. When you obey the Lord’s voice you position yourself in a safe place beneath the shadow of His wing, and you open yourself up to receive His highest for your life. The Bible says; “A man’s heart plans his way,
But the Lord directs his steps” (Proverbs 16:9). We all have plans for our own lives, but when we give those plans to Jesus and ask for His best in our lives, He will take us to heights we never thought possible. It starts with a simple; “Yes Lord. I will go Your way. I will cooperate with You and obey You.”

The Lord will come to a person time and time again about something. If the individual resists His Spirit and refuses to cooperate with Him, eventually He will give a person over to their own ways. In this He allows them to go their own way without Him. When this happens the person ends up heading straight for destruction. This is because the Lord knows what is best for you, and that is why He comes to you in the first place. He sees the pitfalls and traps that the devil has laid out before you. He sees this and will warn a person over and over. Eventually though if they do not listen to Him, He allows them to go their own way, and they end up making a mess of their life. Often when this happens a person will feel angry with God and ask; “How could You allow this to happen to me?” After this takes place if a person is willing to reevaluate their life and looks back on their decisions, they will most likely see that there were signs and warnings from above that they ignored and looked past. Life is all about choices. When we choose God’s way, things will go better for us; when we choose our own way, things do not go so well. The Bible teaches that if we sow to the Holy Spirit we will reap of the Holy Spirit, but if we sow to the wind we will reap a whirlwind.

Often when negative things happen in a person’s life it is due to poor decision-making. Out of God’s grace though, He will come to us again and offer another chance. God loves all people and His heart is for us to know Him and to succeed in life. This starts with an individual recognizing their mistakes, and repenting before the Lord. One must make things right with God first, and then with anyone they may have hurt in the process. Saying sorry can go a long way. This is true humility; being able to self-evaluate and come to terms with your shortfalls. Then choosing to make steps to correct them. This can only be done in and through Christ Jesus. With His strength and help, a person can pick up the pieces of their life and go forward.

In John 8:3-7 it says; Then the scribes and Pharisees brought to Him a woman caught in adultery. And when they had set her in the midst, they said to Him, “Teacher, this woman was caught in adultery, in the very act. Now Moses, in the law, commanded us that such should be stoned. But what do You say?” This they said, testing Him, that they might have something of which to accuse Him. But Jesus stooped down and wrote on the ground with His finger, as though He did not hear. So when they continued asking Him, He raised Himself up and said to them, “He who is without sin among you, let him throw a stone at her first.”

The Lord doesn’t condemn us for our sins, but desires for us to walk away from sin. His heart is for each person to acknowledge what they have done, and to make positive steps forward led by His Spirit. It is never too late to change, to seek the Lord in purity, and to have the blessings that He has destined for your life. When an individual is willing to repent and take a step towards the Lord, He will always take many more steps towards them. Make a choice in this moment to look inside your own heart; to reflect, and to grow from each experience you have had in your life. It is okay to admit when you are wrong. This doesn’t make you weak, but strong. The Bible teaches us that the greatest leaders are the greatest servants; those who are willing to serve others, to humble themselves, and to recognize the things that need to be adjusted in their lives.

There isn’t anything in this world that is worth doing without the Lord’s Presence leading you. There are many people all over the world who have riches, glory, and fame; but they are unhappy and shipwrecked in their lives. The Bible says to seek first the Kingdom of God and all things will be added unto you. Seek for the Lord’s Divine favor in your life this day. You can begin by taking one step towards God and obeying Him in something that He has asked you to do. God is speaking to your heart; are you listening? What is He asking you to do? What is He calling you to walk away from or release unto Him? Whatever it is obey Him; because it is not worth sacrificing your relationship with Him, or the blessings He has waiting for you. The Bible teaches us that anything that takes the place of the Lord in our hearts is an idol. The Lord needs to be first in your life and then you can experience the blessings of His Kingdom on earth. You can start by praying this prayer to Him;

Dear Lord Jesus,

I ask that You would forgive me of my sins and wash me clean with Your blood. I give You my life and welcome You into my heart. I ask that You would lead, guide, and direct me in my life. You are my Savior and I submit my life to You. I choose to obey You this day; and I ask that You would show me the way, and help me to enter into all that You have destined for my life. I let loose of any idols in my heart; and I welcome the Holy Spirit to be with me, and to lead me into Your Kingdom this day.

In Jesus Name I Pray,

Amen
